Your right to cancel
You can cancel a booking for any reason in the 14 days that follow the day you make it, whatever notice you give, and your payment is refunded in full, including the GoSavis booking fee. The period starts the day after you book, so a booking made on 1 March can be cancelled under this right until the end of 15 March. It runs from when you book rather than from the appointment, and because most appointments take place inside it, it is the rule that decides most cancellations.
This right, and this form, do not apply to an event ticket, which is a contract for a leisure activity on a fixed date, or to a booking a business makes for you in person at its premises. For those, the business’s own cancellation terms, shown to you at checkout or by the business and on your booking confirmation, decide what comes back from the start, and the floor described below applies to them too.
Once the service has been provided in full, the right ends, but only where you asked for the service to be provided within the period, acknowledging that you would lose the right once it had been, and the business has marked the booking complete. An appointment within the period can be booked only with that request, which checkout states directly above the booking button: "Your appointment is within your 14-day cancellation period. By booking, you ask the business to provide the service on the date of your appointment, and you understand that once it has been provided in full you can no longer cancel it for a refund." Booking with that statement shown makes the request, and if you would rather not make it you can choose a date after the period ends. Until the service has been provided in full, and on a booking made without the request, you can cancel within the period after the appointment as well as before it, and be refunded in full.
How to cancel
You can cancel a booking from your bookings in GoSavis: open the booking in Activity and choose Cancel, which is offered for an upcoming booking and, while this right lasts, for one whose appointment has taken place. GoSavis records the cancellation straight away and handles any refund for the business, through the way you paid.
You do not have to use GoSavis to cancel, and using the form below is optional. Any clear statement to the business that you are cancelling is enough, whether you use the form or your own words, and whether you send it by email or by post.
The form is addressed to the business you booked with, because the business supplies the service and your contract for it is with the business. The business’s name and address are on your booking confirmation, under "Business details", and the confirmation we send when a business accepts your booking includes a version of this form with your booking’s details already filled in. If you send it by email, copy in support@gosavis.com so that we see it too.
Model cancellation form
This is the model cancellation form set out in Part B of Schedule 3 to the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, reproduced as the regulations print it. Once the period has ended
Once the 14 days have ended, this right and the form no longer apply, and the business’s own cancellation terms, shown to you at checkout and on your booking confirmation, decide what comes back. Every business is held to a floor: cancel at least 24 hours before the start and your payment is refunded in full; cancel inside 24 hours and 50 per cent of the price of the service is refunded. Our Terms of Use set out both in full.
Our cancellation and refund policy explains in plain terms what comes back when a booking is cancelled or not attended, including a deposit, a booking request and a booking paid to the business directly.
