Sustainability
Our commitment to environmental and social responsibility
Our commitment
Sustainability is not something we plan to add later as a marketing exercise. It is part of how we are building from the very beginning, woven into the choices we make about infrastructure, suppliers, and the behaviours we encourage on the platform. Our direct environmental footprint as a digital-first company is relatively small, but the choices we make compound over time, and we intend to make them count.
We treat sustainability as a long horizon problem with short horizon decisions. That means asking the right questions when a new supplier is selected, when a feature is designed, and when a policy is written, rather than waiting for an annual report to surface answers.
How we run our operations
We run our infrastructure on cloud providers that publish credible commitments to net-zero operations, and we choose regions whose grids carry a high proportion of renewable energy. We monitor our hosting footprint as a first-class operational metric, and we make engineering choices (efficient image sizes, sensible caching, on-demand rendering) that reduce the energy required to serve each user.
Internally, we are a remote-first company, which removes the daily commute for most of the team. When we do gather in person, we batch the work that benefits from being together so that travel happens deliberately rather than incidentally. Our office equipment is bought to last, repaired where possible, and responsibly recycled at the end of its life.
The platform's local impact
By connecting people with services in their own neighbourhood we reduce the friction (and the travel) often involved in finding reliable help, and we support the kind of local economies that are worth preserving. We want GoSavis to be a genuine contributor to the places it operates in, not just a presence in them. That means choosing categorical defaults (such as preferring local providers in search results when relevance is otherwise tied) that nudge the network towards healthy outcomes for the surrounding community.
Suppliers and partners
We hold our suppliers to the same standards we hold ourselves. New supplier evaluations include questions about environmental impact, employee welfare, and data ethics alongside the more traditional commercial questions. We prefer suppliers whose own commitments are credible, measured, and published, and we are willing to pay a fair premium for that where the alternative is a black box.
Transparency and reporting
As we grow we will publish an annual sustainability summary that sets out what we have measured, what has improved, what has not, and what we plan to do about it. We would rather publish a modest, honest summary than a glossy one that overstates progress; the metrics will grow as the company does.
