Paying and cancelling
Card and pay-on-arrival options, cancellations, refunds, and what happens when plans change.
How payment works
Checkout shows the methods available for that booking. You may be able to pay online by card through Stripe or agree to pay the business on arrival. Stripe receives the raw card details entered in its payment component; GoSavis keeps only the limited payment reference and card information needed to administer the booking.
Before you confirm, checkout shows the total, the cancellation conditions and, for an online payment, who will appear as the payment merchant. A pay-on-arrival booking does not charge a card through GoSavis.
Cancelling and changes
Does booking cost anything up front?
It depends on the method shown at checkout. An online card booking may be charged when confirmed. A pay-on-arrival booking reserves the slot without a GoSavis card charge.
How do I cancel or reschedule?
From your bookings page. In the 14 days that follow the day you book, a prepaid booking is refunded in full whatever notice you give, including the GoSavis booking fee. An appointment inside those 14 days can be booked only with your request that the business provide the service within that time, which checkout states above the booking button. Once the service has been provided in full and the business has marked it complete, it can no longer be cancelled for a refund; until then, or where no request was made, you can still cancel it from your bookings after the appointment, within the period, and be refunded in full. An event ticket is not covered by the 14-day right, because it is for a leisure activity on a fixed date, and neither is a booking a business makes for you in person at its premises; for those, the business's own cancellation terms apply from the start. A booking a business makes for you in person anywhere else, at your home for example, or by phone or message, is covered as usual. After that period the business's own terms apply as they were shown to you at checkout, even if the business changes them later, with a platform floor of a full refund up to 24 hours before the start and 50 per cent refunded inside that. Please cancel as early as you can: the business was holding that slot for you, and repeated no-shows may lead a business to decline your future bookings.
What if I already paid the business?
A prepaid booking you cancel in the 14 days that follow the day you booked is refunded in full through the applicable payment route, including the GoSavis booking fee, because that period is a statutory right no business can vary. After it, the business's cancellation terms decide, with a platform floor of a full refund up to 24 hours before the start and 50 per cent refunded inside that; where a charge applies it is worked out on the business's price for the service alone, so whatever you paid above it, the fee included, comes back to you. Money paid directly on arrival is handled by the business. If you cannot resolve a problem, contact us through Feedback so we can review the booking and payment evidence.
What if the business did not turn up?
Open the booking and choose The business did not turn up, once its start time has passed and for up to 30 days after it. We tell the business, which has 3 days to respond, and nothing is refunded or paid out for the booking meanwhile. If it does not respond, your payment is refunded in full, including the GoSavis booking fee, through the way you paid, whether or not it has already been paid out to the business. If the business says it attended, we look at the booking, the messages and what you both say, and decide.
Our cancellation and refund policy explains in plain terms what comes back when a booking is cancelled or not attended, including a deposit, a booking request, a tip and a booking paid to the business directly.
